A Moment in Time
Aunt Belle was the middle sister of the three “Boothman Sisters” (1865- 1946). She
along with Aunt May and Aunt Becky ran the Mt. View House passed down from their grandparents. The“Sisters” grew up in this boarding house while their mother
worked in the ribbon mills in Manchester after their father died at age 41.
On warm summer afternoons after the lunch chores were finished and before the
evening meal preparations, Aunt Belle would sit on the front porch and make
baskets. Unsure if the guests would participate but it was a peaceful and productive way to spend the afternoon.
